Adam Justin DietrichAdam Justin Dietrich graduated from Tarrant County College in 2001. Adam was the Hip Pocket Theatre apprentice from 2001-2004 under the Texas Commission on the Arts Texas Apprenticeship Program. He has secured several grants from state and national organizations, corporations, and private foundations including first time awards for HPT from the Smallwood Foundation, The Pangburn Foundation, Heartland Arts Fund, Home Depot, Speedway Children's Charities, M.R. & Evelyn Hudson Foundation, Office Depot, and Half Price Books. He developed new programming such as the highly successful Cowtown Puppetry Festival, a new history outreach program with Highland Park High School – World War I Live!, and a traveling photography exhibit sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts in collaboration with the Arlington Museum of Art and the Fort Worth Public Library.
Besides development Adam is an accomplished performer, writer, and musician. He has performed in several HPT shows as well as featured roles at the Dallas Theatre Center, Dallas Children's Theatre, Texas Radio Theatre Company, Bass Performance Hall, Rose Marine Theatre, Big Nazo, The Butterfly Connection, and others. Adam specializes in mime, puppetry, movement, and performance art. He is the co-founder and artistic director of a production company, The Butterfly Connection, offering touring productions and specialized outreach opportunities, free to the general public, in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Currently, Adam Dietrich teaches on the Hip Pocket Theatre Outreach Staff providing outreach opportunities to low-income children, underprivileged youth, hospitalized kids, AP History and English students, and illiterate parents and children.
